Medicare Supplement Plan I
Medigap is a private health insurance policy that is intended to cover the extra costs not covered by Medicare. It covers many of the costs such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. Before, there were 12 plans but a sudden change was made last June 2010 and 10 new official plans of Medigap were introduced. Medicare Supplement Plan I was one of the plans excluded to Medigap.
However, we will talk about Medicare Supplement Plan I for you to get to know what it was intended to cover before. We will deal exclusively with Medicare Supplement Plan I policies benefits and other considerations before.
Medicare Supplement Plan I has lots of benefits. Medicare Supplement Plan I policies provided Basic coverage in addition to other benefits. Basic coverage of all Medigap plans includes:
• Medicare Part A Coinsurance
• Medicare Part B Coinsurance
• Blood
• Medicare Preventative Care Part B Coinsurance
Medicare Supplement Plan I also provided the following additional benefits:
• Skilled Nursing Facility Coinsurance
• Medicare Part B Excess Charges
• Foreign Travel Emergency
• At-
There were also parts that Medicare Supplement Plan I do not cover like Medicare Part B Deductibles and some Additional Preventative Care Not Covered by Medicare.
Medicare Supplement Plan I is now not part of the 10 Medigap Plans. If you would like to consider other Medigap plans, choose from the new set presented by Medicare Supplement.
